Boost for Kerala Tourism?

Reading these reports from Kerala in the past few days, it is evident that special efforts are being made to boost the tourism industry in the state.

The pilot project of The Coconut Trail, an initiative of the Coconut Development Board (CDB), is being launched in Kerala this year.

The Kerala Tourism Development Corporation has announced special family tour packages for Non-Resident Keralites (NRKs).

The Kerala Tourism Ministry has tied up with the World Malayalee Council (WMC) to organise a "Discover Kerala" initiative, under which efforts would be made to familiarise delegates from the UAE with Kerala's tourism potentials.

At the same time we read-
The ruling LDF-sponsored dawn-to-dusk strike in Kerala on Saturday effectively closed down the state for a day.

Wonder how the boost in tourism will take place with strikes paralysing normal life in the state regularly.

It will certainly have an adverse impact. But not on those shutting the state down. They couldn't care less for the aam admi whom they harm with such political gimmicks.

Kerala has been a progressive state but the re are some who will destroy whatever comes their way.
Such initiatives must be encouraged

The hartals shall kill the state if not stopped... nd no tourist would like to be stranded...

and Keralites check their special calendars to see if they can land/move safely :)

tourism cannot flourish without ppl.. n such hartals/strike need to be taken care of.. government should take care of the people first and people will then take care of tourism and business :)

@sm - I do agree with you. However, workers'/the public's right to protest should have some limits. Otherwise the protests/ hartals become counterproductive!
