Education Or Politics?

The newly elected State Government of Maharashtra, headed by Chief Minister Ashok Chavan, was sworn in on November 7th.

On the very same day, permission for 76 new senior colleges or a new section to existing colleges, was given by the State Higher and Technical Education Department. Senior NCP leader, Rajesh Tope, has charge of this Ministry.

'Interestingly, most of the educational institutions on the list, are directly or indirectly controlled by leading politicians belonging to the Congress and the NCP.'

'“It’s mere coincidence that permission for the colleges was granted on November 7, the day the Ashok Chavan government was sworn in,’’ a senior education department official said.'

This is among the real reasons behind the "dynastification" of politics. They need the protection and power provided by politics to keep their businesses flourishing and getting into more of them, often breaking and bending rules.

The more you look, the more you find this happening. I will not be surprised if after a few years most existing industries land up in the hands of a few hundred politicians and their families.

That is a dangerous scenario.

manju,I am not surprised at all.
I have maintained that India will be run-governed and managed by a limited number of families.
Politics-200 families.
Business--400 families
Education--100 families,including the political families.
Everybody has his own fieldom. We have to learn to live with this nonsense because we do not have an opposition partyworth it's name and we,the people, are too selfish to unite.
