If Koda was put into that chair by the Congress, Sure-in has been pushed in by the BJP, yes that party which used to claim with some pride once that it was different from the Congress. Now, it is hard to tell where one ends and the other begins.
We elect them to govern;
They select among themselves to loot-n-run.
We believe it is democracy;
They laugh coz they know it's plunder-ocracy.

IT HAPPENS ONLY IN INDIA.
CAN SOME ONE HELP ME SOLVE A MYSTERY??
HOW IS THAT THE GOVT APPOINTED COMMISSION REPORTS GET LEAKED?
RAM PRADHAN REPORT IS ALLEGED TO HAVE LEAKED TO THE PRESS IN MUMBAI.
LIBERAHAN COMMISSION REPORT IS ALLEGED TO HAVE LEAKED TO THE PRESS IN DELHI.
EARLIER SRIKRISHNA COMMISSION REPORT WAS ALLEGED TO HAVE LEAKED .
ALL THESE ALLEGED LEAKS TOOK PLACE BEFORE THE REPORT WERE PLACED IN THE ASSEMBLY OR THE PARLIAMENT.
ALL THESE REPORTS WERE VERY IMPORTANT FOR THE BASES OF DEMOCRACY IN INDIA AND IMPORTANT FOR JUSTICE SYSTEM IN INDIA.
IF AND WHEN YOU FIND AN ANSWER TO THIS MYSTERY,PLEASE DO LET ME KNOW-I WILL BE GRATEFUL.
JAI HIND
let us CHANGE INDIA for INDIA OF TOMORROW.
"It will be easier to repair the defect if the assembly is not in session" was the explanation by the PWD minister.
He probably visualized thrown microphones and rampant, violent, running legislators.
Today, Dec 9, as soon as the legislators convened, the main iron gate at the southern entrance to the assembly premises, mostly used by legislators and the media, collapsed suddenly, injuring a staff member, who was taken to Hospital.
Germans from Singapore are repairing the systems. The Opposition leader says the whole thing is a ruse to delay some bills.
How can these people manage an entire state ?
A contender for chief ministership, Jagan had paid no tax in H1 last year, but has paid Rs 6.6 crore in the first half this year. In H2 last year, he had paid just Rs 2.92 lakh tax for the entire financial year 2008-09, but is now projecting a tax outgo of at least Rs 22 crore, with his personal income expected to cross Rs 70 crore in 2009-10.
He is the only recognised politician in the top 100 taxpayers, according to sources.
Could he have amassed so much of declared, and manifestly many times more hidden, wealth by hard work and honesty?
Is India now going to pass into the hands of such utterly dishonest men and women who so blatantly abuse power?

As per election rules, any candidate who get less than one sixth of the total votes polled in a constituency loses his security deposit of Rs 5,000. That is the token penalty that he has to pay for being so roundly rejected by the people.
But what happens if all candidates lose their security deposits? The one who gets the maximum votes is declared winner!
This is what has happened in the recent elections in Karnal, Haryana where Zile Ram Sharma has emerged victorious – and much richer, considering the post-poll machinations in progress.
This is a mockery of democracy. Even when people reject, they can only elect.

"Democracy is built on the oft-tarnished ideal that any man or woman can get elected, but in India ... political dynasties, large and small, have proliferated so rapidly that ... nepotism is corroding the political system.” This is what an article in The New York Times says about India's democracy. There is more:
There are 1050 registered parties, but most have no inner-party democracy
9/32 Union Cabinet Ministers have political family links
31/58 women Parliamentarians have similar links
30 or more candidates in Maharashtra, including the son of India's President, are from political families.
“It has gotten into the DNA of the Indian political system,” says Jagdeep Chhokar, because politicians “trust family members more than outsiders”. Ordinary party workers are being shut out.
Is this democracy any more?

Today we may be watching a fight in a divided political family in Maharashtra. But, given the way politics is becoming a family business across the country, it is only a question of time before many more family 'Jinnahs' emerge in other states as well as the Centre.
Have we not lost our way in our experiment with this model of democracy blindly copy-pasted from a tiny and very different island?
