I don’t know how many readers here remember that awful period.

I remember, I have seen it and felt it.

Congress party lead by Mrs Indira Gandhi declared internal emergency in the country after a decision of the Allahabad High Court against her.

Most of the opposition leaders were jailed; Press was not allowed to function, freedom of speech was taken away, some close to congress took undue advantage of the situation and exploited it to the maximum.

A lot of institutions succumbed to pressure.

Famous saying goes—they were asked to crawl but part the media bent backwards.

The party in the last 35 yrs has not apologised to the nation, but the people gave a fitting reply to congress in the next elections.

I hope and wish that such a step is not taken again by any political party in India.

It seems that no civil service in India which is free of corruption.

This budget again proves that the common man is the last, or no , priority of any govt.
Without going into the details of the budget, one thing is for sure that Petrol prices have brought the opposition together.

What is, NOT SHOCKING, is when a Congress minister made a statement on national TV that the final decision on petrol prices will that of Mrs Sonia Gandhi.

It was very depressing, it was very hurtful.

Yesterday, I watched a short interview with a person who was on a wheel chair and a person on crutches.

It is a shocking state of affairs in the country, generally, but particularly so with the physically disabled.
The physically disabled are asking the govt to please consider waving off duties on wheel chairs and crutches.

What a request and what a need?

What can be more of an example of the Govt’s disconnect with the aam aadmi?
This is an expectation from a govt which itself is on the crutches of coalition partners.
This is an expectation from a Govt which subsidises food in lok sabha canteen for its members but is blind, deaf and dumb when it comes to basic needs of the physically disabled.

PM called a meeting on the 6th, of the CMs, to discuss price rise situation.

Details of the meeting will be covered separately in another post. But ,three points stood out during and after the meeting

2...Pranab Mukherjee got angry with Modi and said that this forum should not be used for politics.
Does Congress itself leave any forum for playing politics?

3...Narendra Modi exposed the govt's double speak;
Modi read out a sheet of paper revealing that of the total raids conducted against hoarders in India,87% were of the raids were in non Congress ruled states and only 13% of the raids were in Congress ruled the states. One can draw the one’s own conclusions on the purpose of raids.

Asha Kiran Complex, is for the mentally challenged and is managed by Social Welfare Dept of the Delhi Govt.where 13 inmates have died in one month.

Human Rights team is said to have observed “an overcrowded cage with conditions worse than the national zoos”

The complex is meant for 350 but has about 720 inmates.

The Delhi commission for protection of child rights has issued a notice to social welfare deptt. It has submitted an inspection report stating 75 inmates have died between 2004-08.

One inspection report is said to have stated that children suffer from TB, and skin diseases. This was due to lack of hygiene, sanitary condition besides overcrowding.

Children with TB were not kept in isolation rooms either.

So much for Delhi Govt efforts to take care of India’s “FUTURE”

There are 397 members in the newly formed Bihar state committee of the Congress - and the most important criteria for their inclusion seems to be that of caste.

A section of the list released here in Patna on Wednesday, issued by the AICC headquarters and bearing the signature of AICC Bihar in-charge Jagdish Tytler, had castes — Kanyakubja Brahmin, Bhumihar, Chamar, Yadav, Maithili Brahmin, Muslim, Rajput — affixed to the names.


The visibly embarrassed Bihar state Congress chief, Anil Kumar Sharma, explained that copies of the lists had been distributed by mistake. They were meant for internal use only. However he stressed that every section of society had been represented in the new committee.

That would surely not be difficult with a 397 member committee? Or might the number of castes be more than 397?

Get ready to be greeted by Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh every 25 kms when you travel on national highways.

As per the Times of India, each billboard will cost Rs 10 lakhs while the Economic Times puts the figure at Rs 4 lakhs. That means anything between Rs 60 crores to Rs 150 crores is going to spent on them.

The Congress wants the BCCI to lift the ban imposed on past Indian Cricket Captain, and match-fixing accused (in 2000) Mohammed Azaruddin. His becoming an MP from Moradabad has suddenly made him whiter than white. The membership of Parliament confers lots of benefits, often misused, but it is not clear if absolving someone of guilt, even when cases against him are on in courts , is one of them.

In the meanwhile The National Election Watch has declared that 28.60 % of our MP's have a criminal background, and this percentage is up 19.5% from the last Lok Sabha constituted in 2004.

Will this cause a rush of criminal MP's on their way to sainthood ? Only time and Someone in Delhi can tell .

Koda is being called the biggest scam master of our times.

As per reports, Rs 640 crores were deposited in cash with the UBI, Zaveri bazaar, over a period of less than two years.This works out to an average of more than Rs 1.20 crores per day.

Any amount above Rs 50,000 deposited in cash has to be supported by the PAN number. Did the bank ask for PAN?

If not, how did the bank accept such huge amount? Why did the bank not inform the department.? If the bank did inform, then why did the department not take action?

Investigating agencies must first haul up the bankers,the I.T dept, and others who were a party to this game
